Ruth 1 – 4

Ruth 1:16 “Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.”

Ruth shows complete faith, hope and love (1 Corinthians13:13). No matter what, thick or thin, Ruth will be there for her Mother-In-Law. Ruth chose the more difficult path, definitely, having to deal with her elderly, depressed, negative Mother-In Law. It would’ve been easier to return with her sister. But Ruth knew that she had to go with Naomi, and she didn’t doubt it. She made a really hard decision with complete conviction. And it really paid off!

 

We should all be more like Ruth, just knowing in our hearts where we need to go, even if it looks bleak and trust that God is there beside us, fighting for us, and willing to follow us into the dark.
