It’s been fascinating thinking about Worship, one of this season’s central themes recently.
I’ve found that often, we end up overlapping with another of the themes, because they are so intertwined.
Community, for example. How our voices join together in creating a new song, a new conversation, new growth and ideas. Encouraging one another, building one another.
Every voice matters. Every voice brings a unique perspective. Every voice brings something of value.
Or the theme of Transformation. How our lives are living sacrifices, and our minds are constantly renewed – this is our true worship. A process of growing slowly over time. It’s a lifelong journey; every small moment adding up. Each thought is a seed, each action bears fruit.
Our growth happens moment by moment, as we “practice what we preach”. Practicing our scales, arpeggios, keeping synchronised to a metronome. Having an ongoing focus on how we can keep learning, improving, being ready for the big moments.
We’ve considered how worship can be more than just making music and singing songs – it’s about the normal, everyday things. It can be an ongoing lifestyle, of bringing what you have, and adding value. Adding to the community, adding to family, loving others as we love ourselves.
Out thoughts, words and actions, like melodies, harmonies and rhythms. Complementing each other, creating space for each other, improvising in the moment, with whatever unexpected comes our way.
We’re building a culture of life, growth and creativity. Modeled after the Creator Himself.
