Ignite is a group of people exploring what it means to be church community and follow Jesus in our everyday. We sing songs that are led by a band, pray and hear a short talk based on a passage or theme from the Bible. We try to take into account different learning styles so we sometimes have panel discussions, watch videos, do interviews, have creative spaces and open mic times. Here’s a blog post about our most recent 4 week format.
We meet altogether on Sundays at 11am, starting and ending with tea and coffee. We have a bring and share lunch on the first Sunday of each month.
There are groups for children and teenagers fortnightly and spaces for babies and preschoolers to play. Our sessions are very informal and there is no dress code or expectation to participate.
We see that in the Bible Jesus welcomed all people and longed to meet them where they were at. Although we value gathering together on a Sunday morning, we also gather in homes and at Urban Junction in smaller groups during the week as we explore life together.
In general our pattern is:
1st Sunday of the month – 11am with a bring and share lunch afterwards
2nd Sunday – 11am for an Altogether Ignite, usually sitting around tables
3rd Sunday – 11am for Ignite
4th Sunday – 10.30/11am for Homechurches in different locations and a Pop up Cafe in Urban Junction
