We’re a mixed group who meet together to have a chat, go on outings and try new activities. We call our group ‘The Over’s’ because whether you feel you’re over 80, 50 or 21 – you’re welcome to join us! We mostly meet in Urban Junction but go out and about sometimes too. Most activities are without charge.
Our Vision
Our vision is to see every older person in Blackrock feeling a part of their community and living life in all its fullness. We want to see people enjoying life – getting to know their neighbours, trying new experiences and using their skills to help others.
Our Mission
Our mission is to share Christ’s love with people in Blackrock by meeting social, educational, practical and spiritual needs. We do this by organising coffee mornings, trips, computer classes, faith discussion groups and more.
When we meet
Tuesdays:
Coffee Morning at 11.30am
Food For Thought Lunch at 12.45am
Outing on 1st Tuesday of the month
Wednesdays:
Bible Study/Prayer Group at 7pm
Thursdays:
Computer Club fortnightly at 6.30pm
Art Class/Guest Speaker/Movie Night fortnightly at 6.30pm
Sundays:
Ignite – all age gathering for music and prayer at 11am
Other:
Overnight trips, pastoral visiting, family days
